Air ducts contain a number of indoor air contaminants, including fiberglass particles, mold, dust mites, bacteria, and other potentially unhealthy debris.
Often, more than one cleaning technique will be used to ensure your ducts are as clean as they should be.
If any members of your family are experiencing unusual or unexplained illnesses that you suspect are related to your indoor air quality, this is a great way to improve the overall indoor air quality of your home.
Maintaining your HVAC system is also known to help maintain the energy efficiency of your system. A buildup of 0.42 inches of dirt on a heating or cooling can reduce the efficiency of your system by 21% or more!
Mold spores spread quickly when the mold is exposed to vibrations and air movement.
Air ducts are perfect ways to spread these spores, shaking them loose with moving air, and then spreading them all over the house.
To maintain a healthy environment, clean out air ducts routinely.
Just like every other surface in your home, your air ducts experience buildups of the dust and debris that turns up in your home over the years.
In the same way that it's important to routinely clean out the visible dust in your home, you should routinely clean out your air ducts as well.
Air duct cleaning has been around since the 1930s, and since then the practice has significantly improved. More now than ever, there is a wide selection of techniques and technologies that can be used to clean an air duct system.
At Bactronix Tri-State, we have the training, experience, and certification to clean your air ducts properly to increase your home's IAQ and energy efficiency. For a free air duct cleaning quote and in-home consultation, contact us today!
This sends high-pressure air from compressor down a hose and through an air nozzle. The nozzle directs streams of condensed air, blasting dirt and debris off the vents and ducts.
From there the air movement sends the debris to a vacuum collection system, which picks up the debris for removal.
Air whips combine the traditional air washing technique with "air whips", which beat at the edges of the vent to agitate the debris loose. As with air cleaning, the debris makes its way into a vacuum collection system.
This technique is superior to air cleaning alone, as the whips will dislodge debris that may be impossible for the air nozzle to blast away.
This technique requires a thorough power brushing, followed up by air washing.
This is by far the most effective way to properly clean your air ducts. During the brushing stage, the physical contact with the ductwork is maximized, knocking off more debris than with other techniques. Air brushing afterwards helps to clean residual dust and small particles not cleaned away by the brush cleaning.
